On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure informed team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which stressed that playtesting had shown the necessity for a more defined vision.
Ismailer stated that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to satisfy community desires.
Trend of Key Recruitment
The news echoes a similar action taken by the publisher in the summer, when they brought on an industry veteran from Blizzard to contribute to the beloved franchise development group.
Here is the complete content from the president's communication:
Dear Team—
I understand you all just completed your meeting - I trust you’re as thrilled as I am with the recent updates. Last time I shared you all a message, I mentioned the following: “I believe in this team. You all are some of the most dedicated and creative creators we have had the pleasure to work with - and we’re excited for that partnership to endure.”
With your dedication and versatility, particularly over the past twelve months, you continue to prove that.
The player input from last autumn’s the game testing phase was informative. It validated the promise of a action-packed game but made clear we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the requirement for a more distinct vision.
It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve come. You accepted the feedback to heart and reimagined the title with a refreshed vision - one that’s ready to achieve its ambition to our audience.
The trust in Project ETHOS increases every day. To boost the remarkable development you’ve made, I am thrilled to welcome the new hire as the new Studio Head of the team. Following several months of discussions, he comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
Ben’s leadership and experience in the competitive gaming field is considerable, having devoted the last 15 years creating and overseeing some of the most well-known series in the industry, including the acclaimed shooter, and more recently, the battle royale hit.
I invite you all in receiving him in the coming days. We are all looking forward to keep witnessing the evolution of the game in the weeks to come.
David
